Fernando Tato is an actor, director, screenwriter and musician. He graduated in Art History at the University of Santiago de Compostela and in Dramatic Art at the ESAD of Galicia, completing his acting training at the studio of Lorena García de las Bayonas in Madrid.
Fernando combines his career as an actor (Pulsaciones, Lobos e cordeiros, O faro, Hotel Almirante...) with the creative direction of Kraken Media where he is in charge of the development of projects focusing essentially on scriptwriting and directing.
He directed and wrote the short films :

- Partners: Best Galician Short Film 2023 at Fancine de Lemos, Best Galician Short Film 2022 at CURTAS Festival do Imaxinario, Best Short Film at X Festival de Terror PANIC A Estrada.
- A Entrevista: First Faro de Plata Award at Festival de Cine l'Alfàs del Pi, shortlisted for the GOYA, Audience Award at Festival de Cine Inclusivo de Vigo, Finalist Mestre Mateo Awards 2023, Best Short Film at Certame de Curtas Aosc. Cultural Alberto Romero 2023 and Finalist Best Screenplay at Festival Internacional De Cine De Piélagos.
- Fractures: Mestre Mateo 2022 Finalist, Best Foreign Slasher Short at the Fright Night Film Fest in Shelbyville and 1st Runner Up at the Hardcore Horror Fest in Illinois.
- El Jefe: Finalist in the 2020 Mestre Mateo Awards, Audience Award at the Zaragoza Film Festival.
- Uganda: Award at the Festival de Curtas Armandiña.

His feature screenplay Adeus,Berta has won the 20th SGAE Screenplay Award Julio Alejandro 2023, the Emerging Award D'A Film Lab at Producers Meet Producers 2023 (Sitges Film Festival) and has been awarded the AGADIC Development Grants. El fin de la verdad, was the winner of the Daniel Domínguez Screenplay Award in Galego 2020 and Shortlisted in Tinta Oscura, fantastic and horror film script contest of Blood Window and Ventana Sur. Resurrection was Finalist of the same Award in 2022.
