Carlos Álvarez-Ossorio is a stage director, actor, playwright, lighting designer and filmmaker, born in Seville in 1973 and based in Galicia since 2004. With a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the University of Seville, he complemented his training with studies at the School of Stage Direction of the Andalusian Theater Institute, in addition to working with theater groups such as TNT, Odin Teatret and the London Academy of Performing Arts. He has written articles and given workshops, courses and lectures on the performing arts, publishing the manual "Ferramentas para o diálogo teatral" (Editorial Casahamlet). He is the director and founder of the company Cámara Negra, with which he has staged texts by authors such as Shakespeare, Chekhov, Ibsen, Koltés and Müller, winning multiple awards, such as the ADE José Luis Alonso Award and the Telón Chivas Award. He has been nominated several times for the MAX Awards, being finalist in 2022 in the category of Best Actor for his one-man show 'Si esto es un hombre' and obtaining in 2007 the Award for Best Author in Galician. His career as a director includes collaborations with the Andalusian Theater Center, the European Theatrical Convention and the International Classical Theater Festival of Mérida, as well as with various companies throughout Spain, winning in 2009 the Jara Award of the Extremadura Professional Theater for Best Director.
