Román Méndez de Hevia

Román Méndez de Hevia (Valencia, 1984) graduated in Audiovisual Communication at the UCH CEU in Valencia in 2007 and in 2010 he finished Dramatic Art at the ESAD in Valencia. During her audiovisual studies she started working in the shooting of the film ("Para que nadie olvide tu nombre" by Trivisión directed by César Martínez) and TV series ("Socarrats" and "Autoindefinits" by ContaConta Produccions) as an assistant director. After that, he worked as assistant director for Rafa Montesinos in several toy commercials (ToyPlanet). In 2006 he took a course on Introduction to Film Directing at the Summer School of the Complutense University of Madrid. He has also worked as assistant director recently in the series Señoras del Hampa by Abril Zamora and Carlos del Hoyo and as second assistant director in the short film "Una amiga" by Marta Matute (Solita Films).

She has been Paula Amor's assistant in her course "Jugar el casting" and she coaches actors for tests and shootings, preparing them for the creation of characters, scene work, dramatic arc and racord in the plot of fictions.

In 2020 he participates in the Online Residency for Artists BONFIRE where he develops his project "New pausages" (video and digital collage) and investigates the aspect of self-referential cinema.

As an actor he has developed his career mainly in the theatrical field, mainly in creative theater. In the 2016 Max Awards his company is nominated for Best Newcomer Show for "Nosotros no nos mataremos con pistolas" by Víctor Sánchez. In 2018 he is awarded by the Association of Valencian Actors and Actresses (AAPV) as Best Newcomer Actor for his first play of personal creation, "Ser", which was scheduled at the Margarita Xirgu hall of the Teatro Español in June 2022. In this play he combines theatrical and cinematographic language.

In the audiovisual field he starred in the feature film "Cruzando el sentido" by Iván Fernández de Córdoba and "Pernocta" a short film by the same director for which he won the award for Best Performance at the CortoComenius Festival 2012 in Valencia. He has also participated in series such as "Todo lo otro" (HBOMAX), "Señoras del Hampa" (TELE5), "Servir y proteger" (TVE1), "La ruta" (ATRESPLAYER) and "Desenterrats" (APUNT) and in the feature film "Nosotros no nos mataremos con pistolas" directed by María Ripoll.
